Een hilarisch, onbetrouwbaar en ontroerend verslag van een tegendraads leven. Dat van de sigaren rokende, stevig drinkende en grofgebekte tv-producent Barney Panofsky die er niet voor terugdeinst mensen tegen zich in het harnas te jagen. Wanneer een ex-politieman in zijn memoires uitlegt waarom hij Barney al jaren van moord verdenkt, dwingt dit hem om terug te blikken.

IFFB Festival Directeur Leo Hannewijk: Paul Giamatti en Dustin Hoffman zijn uitstekend op dreef in deze tragi komische film. Een must voor whisky liefhebbers!

Biografie

Hoewel Richard J. Lewis zijn speelfilmdebuut al in 1994 maakte, is ´Barney´s Version´ pas zijn derde film. Hij werkte des te meer voor de televisie, de laatste jaren als schrijver, producent en regisseur voor de populaire politieserie ´CSI´.
